The Shade of Black Smoke
وَظِلࣲّ مِّن يَحۡمُومࣲ ٤٣
And shadow of black smoke.

Meaning
And a shade of black smoke.

Elmalılı explains “yahmum” as jet black like coal, pitch, black smoke. It is called “shade” rather than darkness in mockery.
