The Place of Return
Lo! He Who hath given thee the Qur’an for a law will surely bring thee home again. Say: My Lord is Best Aware of him who bringeth guidance and him who is in error manifest.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
He who ordained the Qur’an for you will take you back to a place of return.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, if the verse came at Juhfa during the emigration from Mecca, “maad” is understood as a promise of return to Mecca.
Reflect
Ask Allah to return you to the good you’ve left.
