A Curse Following Them
وَأَتۡبَعۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعۡنَةࣰۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمَقۡبُوحِينَ ٤٢
And We made a curse to follow them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the hateful.

Meaning
We caused a curse to follow them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the despised.

According to Elmalılı, grandeur belongs to Allah alone; a divine hadith states that pride and majesty are His.
