Continuous Magic
وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةࣰ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرࣱ مُّسۡتَمِرࣱّ ٢
And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
If they see a sign, they turn away and say: “Passing magic.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, they do not learn until it happens, do not consider the end, do not want to take heed, and turn from every sign they see.
