The Screaming Wind
Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “sarsar” as a cold or roaring storm; the day’s ill fortune relates to their destruction.
Reflect
Remember that the wind too is under Allah’s command.
