Half the Night
نِّصۡفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيلًا ٣
A half thereof, or abate a little thereof.

Meaning
Half of it, or a little less.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the reduction should not go below half of the half; that is, one should stand at least a quarter of the night.

Set aside part of the night for Allah.
