Hidden and Open
وَأَسِرُّواْ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُواْ بِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ١٣
And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Whether you hide your words or speak them openly, He knows what is in the hearts.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, hidden and open are the same to Allah. He fully knows a person’s inner world, even what the person is unaware of. So one should revere Him equally in private and in public.
Reflect
Today, sincerely open to Allah an intention you have told no one.
