One Asked
سَأَلَ سَآئِلُۢ بِعَذَابࣲ وَاقِعࣲ ١
A questioner questioned concerning the doom about to fall.

Meaning
A questioner asked for a punishment bound to happen.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “sa’ala” means asked, begged, prayed and inquired; the first sense can cover them all.

Ask Allah for mercy, not punishment.
