Between the Two Barriers
Till, when he came between the two mountains, he found upon their hither side a folk that scarce could understand a saying.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
When he reached between the two barriers, he found before them a people who could hardly understand speech.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “sadd” as firmly closing a gap; it is also said of a barrier between two things and of a mountain. Here it is interpreted as two mountains.
Reflect
Communicate patiently with someone who is hard to understand.
