The Cave and the Inscription
Or deemest thou that the People of the Cave and the Inscription are a wonder among Our portents.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Or did you think that the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription were a wonder among Our signs?
Insight
Elmalılı explains “kahf” as a wide mountain cave, and “raqim” as an inscribed stone or tablet. For Allah, who brings wondrous adornment out of dry earth, this story is not the only marvel.
Reflect
Notice the miracles around you that you take as ordinary.
