Being Turned from Faith
For they, if they should come to know of you, will stone you or turn you back to their religion; then ye will never prosper.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
If they find you, they will stone you or return you to their religion, and then you will never succeed.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, if stoned they would die as martyrs and be saved; but if they turned to disbelief they would be saved neither in this world nor the next, for worldly life passes, while disbelief’s punishment lasts.
Reflect
Hold your faith more precious than anything.
