Meeting Your Lord
Say: I am only a mortal like you. My Lord inspireth in me that your Allah is only One Allah. And whoever hopeth for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work, and make none sharer of the worship due unto his Lord.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Say: “I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do good.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the Prophet does not claim to encompass all of Allah’s words. Whoever hopes to meet his Lord should do good and associate no one in worship.
Reflect
Do an act of worship today purely for Allah.
