The Condition of Sincerity
وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ عَٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٣
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Nor do you worship what I worship.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the condition of worship is sincerity (ikhlas) and faith in Allah’s oneness. Worship without it does not count as worship of Allah.
