Upon a Clear Path
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ فَٱتَّبِعۡهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ١٨
And now have We set thee (O Muhammad) on a clear road of (Our) commandment; so follow it, and follow not the whims of those who know not.

Meaning
Then We put you on a clear path of the matter; so follow it.
Insight
Elmalılı relates from al-Bahr: in Arabic, shari‘ah is the place where people go to draw water from rivers; the shari‘ah of religion is the path to the water of life.
