A Known Decree
وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ٤
And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We destroyed no town except that it had a known decree.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “known” means not forgotten, not neglected, and thus never shifting forward or back.
