Fertilising Winds
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءࣰ فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ ٢٢
And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We have sent the fertilising winds.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “lawaqih” means fertilisers; this meaning of the verse is a scientific miracle in itself.
