The First and the Last
هُوَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُ وَٱلۡأٓخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلۡبَاطِنُۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ ٣
He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward; and He is Knower of all things.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, He precedes everything and has no beginning, for He is the source and originator of all; and He remains after all has perished.
