No Ransom

So this day no ransom can be taken from you nor from those who disbelieved. Your home is the Fire; that is your patron, and a hapless journey’s end.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

So today no ransom will be taken from you.

Insight

According to Elmalılı, however much ransom you would give to save yourselves, it will not be accepted, neither from hypocrites nor from disbelievers.

Reflect

Count a good deed done today as tomorrow’s ransom.
