They Do Not Witness Falsehood
وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشۡهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِٱللَّغۡوِ مَرُّواْ كِرَامࣰا ٧٢
And those who will not witness vanity, but when they pass near senseless play, pass by with dignity.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
They do not bear false witness, and when they pass by idle talk, they pass with dignity.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, they neither give false testimony nor stay where lies are told. “Laghw” is empty things that should be left because they are useless or harmful.
