A Scourge of Punishment
فَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍ ١٣
Therefore thy Lord poured on them the disaster of His punishment.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
So your Lord poured on them a scourge of punishment.

According to Elmalılı, Allah brought punishment on each of them fiercely and in succession, like pouring down the lashes of a whip.
