Remembrance
فَٱذۡكُرُونِيٓ أَذۡكُرۡكُمۡ وَٱشۡكُرُواْ لِي وَلَا تَكۡفُرُونِ ١٥٢
Therefore remember Me, I will remember you. Give thanks to Me, and reject not Me.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Remember Allah, and He will remember you. Be grateful to Him and do not deny His blessings.
Insight
Elmalılı divides remembrance (dhikr) into three: of the tongue, of the heart and of the body. Remembrance of the heart is reflecting on the signs of Allah’s existence, His commands and the secrets of creation. For him, every particle becomes a divine mirror to one who knows how to look.
