Transgression
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطۡغَىٰٓ ٦
Nay, but verily man is rebellious.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
No! Man truly transgresses.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this part of the surah came later, prompted by Abu Jahl, who said: “If I see Muhammad praying at the Ka‘bah, I will trample his neck.”
