Taught What He Knew Not
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ ٥
Teacheth man that which he knew not.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
He taught man what he did not know.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, Allah teaches man both by creating abilities and faculties in him and by setting up proofs and revealing signs: knowledge given freely and knowledge gained by effort both come from Him.
