Preferring This World
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ١٦
But ye prefer the life of the world.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
But you prefer the life of this world.

According to Elmalılı, heedless people, instead of preferring success above all and striving to purify themselves, choose the world’s adornments, amusements and pleasures.
Reflect
Today, do not sacrifice something for the Hereafter to a worldly matter.
