Knowledge of the Hour
Men ask thee of the Hour. Say: The knowledge of it is with Allah only. What can convey (the knowledge) unto thee? It may be that the Hour is nigh.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
People ask you about the Hour; say: “Its knowledge is only with Allah.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the idolaters asked to mock, the hypocrites to stir trouble, and the Jews to test.
Reflect
Think not of the Hour’s timing but of preparing for it.
