The People of Paradise
Lo! those who merit paradise this day are happily employed.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The people of Paradise that day will be joyfully occupied.
Insight
Elmalılı recalls that entering Paradise is essentially by Allah’s grace, though good deeds are made a means to it. The “fruit” given there also expresses not just pleasure but the harvest of one’s effort.
Reflect
Think of a good deed you do today as fruit you will gather later.
