If We Willed, We Would Drown Them

وَإِن نَّشَأۡ نُغۡرِقۡهُمۡ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنقَذُونَ ۝٤٣

And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

If We willed, We would drown them; then there would be no one to answer their cry, nor would they be saved.

Insight

Elmalılı reads this with the previous image: Allah could, if He willed, sink both the offspring in the womb and the passengers in the ship. He is the one who carries and protects them.

Reflect

As you set out on a journey today, remember the One who protects you.
