No Book, No Warner
وَمَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّن كُتُبࣲ يَدۡرُسُونَهَاۖ وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَبۡلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرࣲ ٤٤
And We have given them no scriptures which they study, nor sent We unto them, before thee, any warner.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We had not given them any scriptures to study, nor sent to them before you any warner.

According to Elmalılı, their idolatry rests neither on a book nor on a prophet; those who invented idolatry were not prophets.
