Walk Moderately, Lower Your Voice
Be modest in thy bearing and subdue thy voice. Lo! the harshest of all voices is the voice of the ass.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Be moderate in your walk and lower your voice.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this means not shouting when speaking, for the most disagreeable of voices is that of donkeys. These are examples of the wisdom and gratitude given to Luqman.
Reflect
Soften your voice when you speak today.
