Unsuspecting Believing Women
Lo! as for those who traduce virtuous, believing women (who are) careless, cursed are they in the world and the Hereafter. Theirs will be an awful doom.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those who accuse chaste, unsuspecting believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “unsuspecting” here is a quality of praise: believing women to whose minds such evil never even occurs.
