Be Patient, Persevere
O ye who believe! Endure, outdo all others in endurance, be ready, and observe your duty to Allah, in order that ye may succeed.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
O you who believe, be patient, outdo in patience, stand on guard, and be mindful of Allah that you may succeed.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, patience has three degrees: patience in hardship, patience in worship and patience against sin. And one is commanded to outdo Allah’s enemies in patience.
