Salt Water
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجࣰا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ ٧٠
If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
If We willed, We could make it bitter. Why do you not give thanks?
Insight
According to Elmalılı, since water is more vital than food the emphasis here differs; if Allah willed, He could make rain too bitter to drink.
Reflect
Give thanks today that the water you drink is sweet.
