Dry Stubble
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمࣰا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ ٦٥
If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
If We willed, We could make it dry stubble, and you would be left wondering.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “hutam” as crumbled dry matter, chaff and straw; “tafakkuh” is lamenting in astonishment and regret.
Reflect
Consider that what you have could vanish in a moment, and give thanks.
