Thirst Never Quenched
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ ٥٥
Drinking even as the camel drinketh.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Drinking like thirsty camels.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “him” as camels struck with “huyam”, a thirst disease: they drink and drink but are never quenched. So too they will drink scalding water without being quenched.
Reflect
Set a limit today on desires that are never satisfied.
