Favour to the Oppressed
وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَئِمَّةࣰ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ ٥
And We desired to show favour unto those who were oppressed in the earth, and to make them examples and to make them the inheritors.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We wanted to confer favour upon those oppressed in the land and make them leaders and inheritors.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the leaders are imams followed in religion and worldly life.
