Their True Appointment
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ٤٦
Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure).

Meaning
But the Hour is their appointment, and the Hour is more grievous and more bitter.

According to Elmalılı, that defeat is not their full punishment but a beginning; their true appointment is the Hour, when punishment is promised.
