Going Early in Greed
وَغَدَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ حَرۡدࣲ قَٰدِرِينَ ٢٥
They went betimes, strong in (this) purpose.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And they went early, determined, able to prevent.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, they went able only to prevent swiftly, driven by greed and anger; collective greed and oppression are stronger and worse than an individual’s.
Reflect
Don’t join a group wrong because “everyone does it”.
