On the Snout
سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡخُرۡطُومِ ١٦
We shall brand him on the nose.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We will brand him upon the snout.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, saying “snout” instead of nose points to pride and arrogance, as in the expressions “big-nosed” and “turning up one’s nose”.
Reflect
Notice a pride today that makes you look down on others.
