The Habitual Swearer

وَلَا تُطِعۡ كُلَّ حَلَّافࣲ مَّهِينٍ ۝١٠

Neither obey thou each feeble oath-monger.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

And do not obey every habitual swearer, worthless.

Insight

According to Elmalılı, this is one used to swearing about everything true or false; yet an oath is only to support the truth in necessity and real need.

Reflect

Make your word trustworthy today without needing oaths.
