When?
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ٢٥
And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
They say: “When will this promise be, if you are truthful?”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this is the mocking question of those who do not value the gifts of hearing, sight and understanding. The real question is not “when”, but whether one is ready.
Reflect
Instead of “When?”, ask “Am I ready?”
