Those Before
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ ١٨
And verily those before them denied, then (see) the manner of My wrath (with them).
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those before them also denied. Then how was My rejection of them!
Insight
Elmalılı recalls the peoples of Noah, ‘Ad, Thamud, Pharaoh and Lot: all denied their warners and perished in an unheard-of way. The past is a lesson for today.
