Protecting the Parents
And as for the lad, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
“As for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared he would overwhelm them with transgression and disbelief.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the boy was not as innocent as he seemed; he was either a grown transgressor or of a nature that would later drag his parents into disbelief.
Reflect
Reflect on the hidden mercy behind a loss.
