A Straight Guide
(But hath made it) straight, to give warning of stern punishment from Him, and to bring unto the believers who do good works the news that theirs will be a fair reward.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Made it straight, to warn of severe punishment and give good news to the believers who do good that they will have a fine reward.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “qayyim” as a straight judge: the Book both warns of the punishment of the Hereafter and gives good news to those who do good.
