For What You Sent Ahead

(And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

“Eat and drink with satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.”

Insight

Elmalılı explains “islaf” as offering something in advance with payment deferred, like a forward sale: deeds done beforehand in the world are repaid in the Hereafter.

Reflect

Send something ahead for the Hereafter today.
