Past and Future
That Allah may forgive thee of thy sin that which is past and that which is to come, and may perfect His favour unto thee, and may guide thee on a right path.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
That Allah may forgive you what preceded and what follows of your sin, complete His favour upon you and guide you.
Insight
Elmalılı relates from al-Baydawi: the victory became a cause of forgiveness, since it was a means of repelling idolatry by striving and of raising the religion.
