Tested with Hardship
But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
But when He tests him and restricts his provision, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, restricted provision is also a test, to be rewarded in the Hereafter according to one’s patience; it lightens the reckoning and increases the reward.
Reflect
If you are going through hardship, see it as a test, not a humiliation.
