Asking the Truthful
لِّيَسۡـَٔلَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدۡقِهِمۡۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمࣰا ٨
That He may ask the loyal of their loyalty. And He hath prepared a painful doom for the unfaithful.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
That He may question the truthful about their truth.

According to Elmalılı, this covenant shows that the truthfulness of the truthful will be examined and that a painful punishment is prepared for disbelievers.
