Will You Not Eat?
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ٢٧
And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And placed it near them, saying: “Will you not eat?”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this is either an offer meaning “please eat” or a question meaning “why do you not eat?”; placing food near the guest is also good manners.
Reflect
Serve your guest by placing food within their reach.
