يَوۡمَ هُمۡ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفۡتَنُونَ ١٣
(It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The Day they will be tormented over the Fire.

According to Elmalılı, the original meaning of “fitnah” is putting gold and silver to the fire to separate the good from the bad.
